Delmar Bauta (they/them) Birth, Sibling, Postpartum, & Abortion Doula, Lactation Specialist

Delmar is a DONA International trained Birth Doula, MotherCare trained Postpartum Doula, an Ancient Song trained Full-Spectrum Doula, and a Southern Birth Justice trained Birth Justice Doula and Mentor, as well as a Lactation Education Resources certified Lactation Specialist.

Delmar has additional training and experience as a traditional midwife, perinatal wellness counselor, and community health worker.

Delmar sees pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a powerful rite of passage - a profound physical, emotional and spiritual experience that can have lifelong effects on your relationships with yourself, your baby and your partner(s). They blend their knowledge of evidence-based practices and traditional holistic techniques with their advocacy skills to help clients experience their best possible birth. Delmar specializes in client-centered doula care that upholds your right to informed decision-making, bodily autonomy, and self-determination. Their focus on trauma-informed, culturally humble, and gender-affirming care has benefited the wide diversity of clients they have served, including Queer and Trans parents, BIPOC families, immigrants, disabled and Deaf clients, gestational and intended parents, teenagers, survivors of sexual trauma, families who've experienced or are expecting a loss, IVF families, VBACs, home births, clients diagnosed as "advanced maternal age," and both high- and low-risk pregnancies.

Delmar is first generation Cuban-American, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. They are a life-long Girl Scout who enjoys crafts projects, camping, and reading historical fiction. They love finding outdoor adventures and exploring museums with their partner, Rainier, and toddler Ember Ifedayo.
